APPA is the acronym for the Australian Professional Photography Awards which are held annually; this year in Melbourne
Professional photographers from Australia and New Zealand compete for a number of industry awards by submitting four images, which are judged by a panel of their peers.
This year the APPA's were three full days of judging, in four judging rooms, with over 3200 images judged!
I entered 4 prints into the Open Portrait category and managed to score silver awards for 2 of them! Pretty happy with that and although the other two just fell short I still love them- I guess that's the subjective nature of art!

Great lighting and composition on the tatoo shot. The others are lovely to look at too.
